🌸How to cast Dried Flowers in Epoxy Resin🌸
We just love to create unique pieces with epoxy resin and real dried flowers.
So we are ready to help fell in love ❤️ with this technique in a very short time.
Let’s start!
Thoroughly dry your flowers before embedding into a resin or use dried pressed flowers from our store.
Mix and pour a first layer of epoxy resin into the mold. Depending on mold depth and resin you use, you can pour several layers of resin. Usually it is two layers, but if you want to cast a deeper mold, you should cast more than two. We recommend always to follow the resin instruction☝️
Then start inserting your dried flowers into your mold 🌼
Sometimes air bubbles can be trapped under the flowers. You can remove the air by gently pushing the flowers down and carefully moving them sideways with a toothpick.
Bear in mind the bottom of the mold will later be the front side of your finished piece, we recommend placing the flowers with the front side or more beautiful side down😍
Keep an eye on the flowers, they can shift slightly during curing.
After the curing of the first resin layer, you can pour the second layer of resin.
If you notice any tiny bubbles, you can gently remove them with the heat gun.
At the end of the second layer curing time, you can check that the resin has dried through and is ready to be removed from the mold. Check the resin, it shouldn’t be sticky.
If in the process of demolding you notice the resin is still a bit sticky, you should bring it back into the mold for complete curing.
Let your object cure completely on a clean, even and smooth surface.
Sometimes the edges of the mold on the back can be a little rough, you can sand them with a sandpaper🌺
