Hero of the Month: Meet Basak - Resin Jewelry Artist Inspired by Nature

Every month, we shine a light on one remarkable artist from our resin community. Someone whose passion and dedication inspire us all.

This July, we’re proud to introduce Basak, an artist whose love of flowers, color, and storytelling finds its voice in her breathtaking resin jewelry.

At Artline, we believe that working with epoxy resin is more than just a craft. It’s a form of emotional expression, a way to freeze a memory in time, and Basak does this with incredible sensitivity and skill. From self-dried flowers and moss to citrus slices and even pet hair, her creations capture the poetic side of resin art.

In her own words, Basak shares how she found her way into the world of handmade resin jewelry and why it continues to bring her joy every day.

I’ve always been captivated by flowers and colors. There’s something magical about nature’s harmony, the rhythm of petals, leaves, and seeds, and how effortlessly they complement one another. I also believe jewelry is more than an accessory. It’s a way to express one’s style, personality, and emotions. That’s why I love creating handmade pieces that are truly one of a kind. When someone wears a piece I’ve made, it’s not just about completing a look. It’s about telling a story.

I’ve always enjoyed making things by hand. Simple crafts, small creative projects... Anything that let me explore colors, textures, and materials in a quiet, personal way. Over time, this interest naturally grew into a love for design and handmade work.

My interest in handmade design and my admiration for nature led me to resin. In 2019, I started learning about epoxy. Reading, researching, and experimenting... I tested different brands, studied the material’s quirks, and created my first pieces using flowers from our garden. I poured them into simple silicone molds. Just enough to see how it all came together. My first projects weren’t perfect, but I learned a lot, especially about how different resins behave. That trial-and-error phase shaped how I work today. I officially launched my brand in 2021, when I felt ready to share my work with others.

The materials I preserve include self-dried flowers, moss, seeds, citrus slices, and sometimes deeply personal elements like pet hair or petals from a meaningful bouquet. These small details add emotional weight to each piece, turning jewelry into a keepsake.

Resin can be unpredictable. Even when everything is done right, the curing process has its own mind. That’s why choosing the right materials matters. I’ve found that Artline’s Crystal Epoxy works especially well for my needs. Its watery texture handles delicate flowers beautifully helping avoid bubbles, which are often a challenge in botanical designs. It also cures in about an hour, which gives me enough time to work calmly and precisely. For layered pieces or sealing edges, I use Artline's thicker "Extra Honey" version, which adds extra control.

What motivates me most is the process itself. I lose track of time when I’m creating. I’m inspired by others and feel grateful when someone finds inspiration in my work. But above all, the most rewarding part is seeing someone wear my design or choose it as a meaningful gift. Handmade jewelry tells a story and I feel lucky every time someone invites one of my designs into theirs.

Basak’s journey shows that resin jewelry isn’t just a trend, it’s a deeply personal art form. Through her unique pieces, she captures the fragile beauty of flowers and turns them into keepsakes that last a lifetime. Her story reminds us that the magic of resin lies not only in technique but also in heart and intention.

Whether you’re just starting out with epoxy or already creating your own collection, we hope Basak’s words inspire you to look closer at the beauty around you and to preserve it with love, just like she does.
