🥣How To Shape Epoxy Resin To Form A Bowl?🥣

The easiest way to shape resin is to use silicone mold.

What do you need:

🥣Honey Epoxy Resin (It’s better to use mid-high viscosity)

🥣Silicone Mold

🥣Mold Release Spray

🥣Set of Alcohol Inks

🥣Piping Plastic Bag

🥣Gilding Flakes (Gold)

🥣Liquid Gilding (Gold)

🥣Mixing Cups (you can find in our Honey Epoxy Resin Kit)

🥣Stirring Sticks (you can find in our Honey Epoxy Resin Kit)

🥣Protective Gloves (you can find in our Honey Epoxy Resin Kit)

🥣Cup or Glass

Step 1: Get a silicone mold

Choose a silicone mold of a right size for you. We took a Flower Silicone Mold of 25 cm to create Fruit Bowl.

Step 2:  Mix and Pour Resin

Mix Honey Epoxy Resin according to the kit instructions. Two parts resin and one part hardener mixed for 3-5 minutes. Then pour into a second cup and use a second stick to stir again for 3 minutes.

Spritz your silicone molds with the mold release spray and then pour the resin in to your Silicone Mold.

Step 3:  Put Gilding Flakes

Add small number of Gilding Flakes into the middle, mix it with a stick.

Step 4:  Mix and color resin

Mix Honey Epoxy Resin in another mixing cup and add White Pigment Paste. Mix for 3-5 minutes very thoroughly and transfer colored resin inside a piping plastic bag and push it to one corner.

Step 5:  Add Alcohol Inks

Drop alcohol ink in the resin.

Then add a few more drops of different colors. You can use different colors or use shades and make your own pattern.

Step 6:  Pour White colored Resin

Squeeze white colored Resin above Alcohol Ink in a circular motion. Draw lines from the silicone edge to the middle with a mixing stick to create beautiful pattern.

Step 7:  Remove bubbles

Go over the surface of your resin with a heat gun to remove bubbles. Once you have the resin the way you like it, set it aside to soft cure.

Step 8: Shape the resin

How to shape resin? Your epoxy resin must be rubbery and bendable, but not fully cured.

Check it every couple of hours until it gets to this stage.

Once the resin is soft, peel it away from the silicone mold.

Take the cup or glass, cover it with resin to help resin maintain its shape.

Let it cure for about 24-36 hours.

You can paint edges with liquid gilding to give a complete look.

Cool! You just learned how to shape resin!

Look how the bowl turned out. It looks perfect - like made from glass.
